50 Cent dislikes P. Diddy and Jay-Z
Rapper 50 Cent has no desire to be friends with music moguls P. Diddy and Jay-Z. When asked if he ever feels competitive towards Diddy and Jay-Z's business ventures, he replied: "Nah. I don't even like them." The hip-hop star refused to retract his words when it was suggested they could be misconstrued, saying: "I don't give a f**k." 50 insisted he "respected" Diddy but won't be phoning him to ask for advice. He told hip-hop website SOHH.com: "In business, I respect what he does. But if we liked each other, we'd call each other to talk for no reason. And me and Puffy, we don't have conversations." Could 50 cent be trying to cause beef with everybody and anybody these days? Perhaps it will get his name in the press and boost his albums sales when Curtis drops in September?

HHP: “I’ve got sense of humour”
Not only is he the king of the dance floor, but it seems Jabba can laugh at himself. After reading our Four Factor: Phat Floats, that pokes fun at some of our phatter musos, the pantsula from Maf-town encouraged readers to post their comments. He wrote: “HHP uyababa (hot) people, he’s got a sense of humour, a Tswana accent to die for and the way he moves his body, it makes him look hot.” Judging from some of the reader responses it seems his fans agree with him. See more of HHP here.

Violent Femmes not so cosy
It is possible to keep personal beefs separate from business, and veteran country punk legends the Violent Femmes have proved it. At their recent pit stop in SA for the Oppikoppi Festival it was clear that feuding band mates – bassist Brian Richie and lead singer Gordon Gano – play great music when on stage. However, once the pair put down their guitars, they’re not exactly on speaking terms. It all started when lead singer Gordon sold the license rights for their hit song "Blister in the Sun" to Wendy’s burger chain (Read our Interview). Since then there has been no love lost between the band mates. The situation is so bad, the two men reportedly refused to share the limo back to their comfy lodge after the Oppikoppi gig. Now Brian Richie has actually filed a lawsuit against his band mate for failing to pay a fair share of the band's royalties. According to news reports the lawsuits states: “This action is the unfortunate culmination of an on-going, intra-band dispute between Richie and Gano over Gano's misappropriation and misadministration of Richie's interests in the jointly-owned songs and assets of the band." Richie says that Gano should pay him past and future royalties owed and also damages. Gano of course denies any wrongdoing. Right, don’t expect any new music from the Femmes any time soon.

Amy says no, no, no to rehab
Amy Winehouse has quit rehab for a second time. The 'Rehab' singer, who agreed to return to the Causeway clinic recently on the condition her husband Blake Fielder-Civil was allowed to join her, left the Essex facility again on Sunday night following a series of heated rows with Blake. A source told Britain's The Sun newspaper: "This should be about Amy getting help - but too often it's all about Blake. He upset people in the Causeway with his behaviour. They spent half their time arguing. This just shows why the family are so desperate for her to get help without him." Amy and Blake left the R145 663 a week retreat in a taxi and spent the night at a central London hotel. The source added: "Everyone is worried that if they are let loose in London again they'll go straight back to their old habits." Amy, 23, entered rehab last week after allegedly overdosing on a cocktail of ecstasy, cocaine, ketamine and alcohol. Still on Amy, Johnny Headlock, who is the minder of rocker Pete Doherty, claims he enjoyed a "wild" romp with the troubled singer last year while she was dating ex-lover Alex Claire. Mmmmm seems Amy wild ways will never end.

New Look for Speedy
Former Bongo Muffin member and solo artist Speedy has shed his do-rags, baggy jeans, baggy t-shirts, wannabe-umrepa look for a more stylish GQ look. In addition to shedding the “I want to be 50 cent gear”, Speedy also shed some kilos to fit in with his new clothes. According to City Press, the Afro-pop star sort celebrity fashion designer Ephraim Molingoana’s help to complete the new look of tailored jackets, crisp dress shirts, ties and tailored pants in bright and pastel colours. Molingoana is quoted as saying he wanted to give Speedy a young, trendy and urban-funk look. The star who is preparing to release his album, has had some bad press recently when his feud with his 999 record label boss Arthur was splashed in the paper.

Britney snubs JT Duet
Britney Spears "refused" to duet with ex-lover Justin Timberlake. The troubled 'Toxic' singer mysteriously pulled out of recording the track, which was due to be produced by Timbaland, with her former boyfriend last month. A source told the New York Post newspaper: "Timbaland set aside a week out of his crazy schedule to do this - and then, just before she was supposed to fly out, Britney abruptly cancelled the session and refused to do the song. The duet was set to be recorded at Timbaland's Virginia Beach studio and Justin reportedly wrote the track especially for Britney. Britney's record label Jive is said to be worried about the star's erratic behaviour and had hoped the duet would resurrect her faltering pop career.

Female rockers’ girlie concert
Sheryl Crow and Avril Lavigne are organising an all-female music festival which they will headline. The musicians have teamed-up with fellow solo artist Fiona Apple to launch the GirlFrenzy festival, which will take place in Irvine, California, on October 27. The concert will last all day and feature chart-topping female acts as well as emerging talent. Rising stars Sara Bareilles, Antigone Rising and Colbie Caillat are all expected to perform. The concert comes as 45-year-old Crow returns to music after taking a short break following the adoption of her four-month-old son Wyatt Steven in May. She will prepare for the event with two performances in Atlantic City the week before. Lavigne, 22, will appear at the all-girl extravaganza off the back of three concerts in Mexico in October.
