3 times Kanye West referenced Chicago in his songs

Cape Town – Kanye West and his wife Kim Kardashian West announced the birth of their third child last week.

The baby – who was born via a surrogate – is named Chicago and her nickname will be Chi (pronounced Shy).

Following the announcement of the unique name social media whipped itself into a firestorm, but this isn’t the first time the rapper has made a reference to the city that he grew up in.

He’s also mentioned The Windy City in his music. We’ve rounded-up a few times he’s talked about the popular American town in his songs.

HERE ARE 3 TIMES KANYE WEST REFERENCED CHICAGO IN HIS SONGS:

1. HOMECOMING FT CHRIS MARTIN

In this love song to his home town Kanye says:

“Every interview I'm representin' you, makin' you proud
Reach for the stars, so if you fall, you land on a cloud
Jump in the crowd, spark your lighters, wave 'em around
If you don't know by now, I'm talkin' 'bout Chi-Town”.
