5 Julia Roberts questions to Julia Robert

Cape Town – Four-piece Cape Town outfit Julia Robert released their second EP, Diamante mui Frustrante, earlier this week.

The punk/pop rock band consists of Joao Luis Lanca Henriques (bass), Ines Soutschka (vocals and synth), Tara Bakkes (Drums) and Roderick Hugh Alexander MacLeod  (guitar), and even though their name has absolutely nothing to do with actress Julia Roberts, we decided to ask them a few questions about her.

So here goes:

Channel24: What is your favourite Julia Roberts movie?

Julia Robert (JR): It has to be Flatliners. The movie is mostly about a young hair stylist from a small town in America who is just trying to make her way through the world and on a whim decides to travel through India with Jack Bauer from 24. The end is amazing because she realises that she can in fact reconnect with her stepdaughter, also she stops a train from exploding by realising there’s more to life than just working a 9 - 5. The plot, like all Ms Roberts’ movies, was very good.

Channel24: Which of these Julia Roberts are you most like and why?
A: Pretty Woman Julia Robert
B: Stepmom Julia Roberts
C: Notting Hill Julia Roberts
D: Runaway Bride Julia Roberts
E: Osage County Julia Roberts

JR: D: Runaway Bride Julia Roberts. Why? It combines the two things we love the most, crippling narcissistic social anxiety and Richard Gere.

Channel24: Which of these Julia Roberts lines are your favourite?
A: "I'm also just a girl, standing in front of a boy, asking him to love her." (Notting Hill)
B: "I would rather have 30 minutes of wonderful than a lifetime of nothing special." (Steel Magnolias)
C: Edward Lewis: "What's your name?" Vivian: "What do you want it to be?" (Pretty Woman)
D: "Having a baby is like getting a tattoo on your face. You really need to be certain it's what you want before you commit."  (Eat, Pray, Love)

JR: "Having a baby is like getting a tattoo on your face." We just like the first half of sentence D. Having a baby is painful and in a few years you'll wish you had gotten a different one.

Channel24: Which Julia Roberts red carpet look is your favourite and why?

JR: The pink one. But to be honest we would have sooner picked the one where her armpit hairs are on display. Those little hairs are pretty much the only thing that Julia has done that we care for.

Channel24: If you had to write a song for Julia Roberts, what will you call it?

JR: You don't seem to get older (Nosferatu Marabou)
