Blood Brothers

10 of South Africa’s local rock legends unite as one in the battle against cancer, in support of the Vrede Foundation. For the 3rd annual Blood Brothers, South Africa’s first rock supergroup features 6 brand new members to take up arms against their biggest struggle yet. This year’s line-up includes veteran fighters Francois van Coke, Albert Frost, Kobus De Kock Jnr and Jason Hinch. Joining the revelry this year are newcomers Garth Barnes, Hanu De Jong, Chris van der Walt,Jaco Mans, Jason Oosthuizen, Loandi Boersma and fans can also look forward to a few special guest surprise performances. Karen Zoid
Catch Afrikaans singer Karen Zoid live at the Baxter Theatre in Cape Town on Friday and Saturday night. The concert includes classic rock arrangements, powerful ballads and deeply moving compositions. Zoid says that she is looking forward to perform brand new songs with her band. "These are our last theatre shows in Cape Town for 2017." Tickets cost R250 and the show starts at 20:00. Click here for more info and to book your ticket.

The Narrow
Local hard rock icons The Narrow are currently on tour launching their fourth full-length album, Dream of Perelandra. Catch them live at Arcade Empire in Pretoria on Friday at 20:00. Opening bands set to perform include I Believe In Giants, Held On Till May and Undertone. Tickets cost R100 at the door. Click here for more info.

Krank’d Up Music Festival 2017
Rapidly cementing their name as the go-to festival for alternative music fans in South Africa, Krank'd Up music festival is back for another unforgettable show that will be talked about for years to come. The line-up this year feature international acts Memphis May Fire (US) and Intervals (Canada) and then local acts such as Red Helen, OhGod, Vulvodynia, Megalodon, Albinobeach, Savage Lucy, De Wallen and more. The festival is taking place on Saturday at Sundowners, Alberton, Johannesburg and doors open at 12:00. Tickets cost R500. Click here for more info.

Native Young
When asked how he would describe Native Young –  creator of the project Yannick says, "It’s a constantly evolving tapestry of culture, emotion and melody". Formed in the garage of a Gugulethu marimba maker in 2014 – this brotherhood is blurring lines and breaking cultural barriers through their own distinct brand of ‘Kasi pop’. With members stretching from Khayelitsha to Spain – Native Young is an independent collective hosting a menagerie of rotating talent and eclectic taste. The Plastics
The Plastics are a psych pop band from Cape Town. The band have released two EPs and three albums. They released their 3rd studio offering, In Threes, in November 2015, followed by a UK album launch tour with three shows in London. In 2016, The Plastics donned the main stage at Rocking The Daisies as well as a headlining slot at Oppikoppi "The Unsea". The band also released two new singles to radio stations nationwide, namely Sun Scream (including a music video) and None Of The Others, the latter is currently sitting at #15 on 5FM SA Top 30.
