6 new albums that still have to drop this year

Cape Town – We’ve already passed the halfway mark of 2016, and it’s been quite a busy year for music so far.

According to the Official Charts website, some of the biggest selling albums of the year so far include those from Adele, Beyoncé, Justin Bieber, Coldplay, David Bowie, Sia and Drake.

And while we’ve loved all the new music, there are still a few albums heading our way that we simply can’t wait for.

Check them out here:

1) Christina Aguilera

Christina dropped a brand new track earlier this year titled Change, which she put out following the tragic Orlando nightclub shooting in June in which 49 people died. After releasing the track she revealed that her brand new album will drop later this year.

2) Britney Spears

Britney recently revealed that her new album, titled Glory, will be released on 26 August. She has released two singles off the album so far: Make Me... featuring G_Easy and Private Show. About on what to expect from the album, she has said: "It's a little melodic, a little more not so poppy. It's kind of chill."

3) Fergie

Fergie recently dropped the first single, titled M.I.L.F., from her second solo album, Double Duchess, which is due out later this year. According to Fergie, her single M.I.L.F. — which stands for "moms I'd like to follow" —  is all about empowering women to do it all and have it all; career, family and to feel sexy.

4) Bruno Mars

In February this year, Bruno’s dad told Press Reader that his first new album in four years was supposed to drop in March this year, but it got delayed due to his Super Bowl performance with Colplay and Beyoncé. His dad also revealed that his new album can now be expected in the Autumn this year.

5) Lady Gaga

Although there is no official release date yet, Elton John revealed some details about the album on his Rocket Hour podcast earlier this year. "I've heard two or three songs from her new record, which she's making with Mark Ronson, and it's absolutely brilliant, so you're gonna be really happy when you hear that later in the year or early next year," he said. Gaga has also promised fans it will be "worth" waiting for.

6) Frank Ocean

It has been four years since the release of his Channel Orange album. In July 2015 Frank Ocean said his new album will drop July 2016. After no album in July, multiple reports said his album, titled Boys Don’t Cry, will drop on 5 August. Now, after there is still no album in sight, Frank posted a cryptic note on his website which indicates the album might drop in November.
