Cape Town – Toya Delazy made the controversial decision on Wednesday to make her album Ascension available online for free.
This comes after the pop star revealed that she has grown frustrated with the lack of stock of her latest album in music stores around South Africa.
Ascension is Delazy’s second album following her highly acclaimed debut album, Due Drop, which made her a household name both sides of the Atlantic.
The Zulu pop princess took to Twitter to vent her frustration, tweeting: "I woke up frustrated, frustrated from fans desperately asking me where to find the new album."
She followed with a few more tweets:
The sad reality is that one has to pay to get some space music stores, Soon we'll have to pay to breathe ...

My music is about empowerment, love, desire, believing, dreaming - it ain't about f*cking money.

So lets break the system, let's show them how much cash they are losing by not stocking up enough #Ascension albums.
