A line-up change for The Black Cat Bones as they announce new drummer

2015-04-10 11:11

Cape Town – Blues rockers The Black Bones have announced that drummer Jason Hinch is leaving the band and that he will be replaced by Jason Oosthuizen.

While the news has been doing the rounds on social media since the band shared it on their Facebook page last week, it is now official as the band prepares to go into studio to work on their 4th studio album.

Jason Oosthuizen, who needs no introduction, left Van Coke Kartel in 2013 and ventured abroad to pursue a drumming career in the USA, only to return in March 2015 as a result of visa restrictions.

Not giving any reasons as to why Hinch is leaving, The Black Cat Bones also announced that the album is scheduled to launch within the next couple of months and with Jason joining the band, the album promises to pleasantly surprise and excite fans. Good news for fans is that the first single off the new album will be available as a free download for a limited period from the date of launch. (to be announced soon).

Another aspect to look forward to is the return of the ‘Deboned’ configuration where fans can expect to see members of the band do selective acoustic collaboration performances with some of the most well respected musicians in the country. This is in no means a substitute for the band’s original unplugged performances, but instead a channel showcasing their individual diversity and interests outside of the Black Cat Bones' 'live band' capacity.
