Adele 'super happy' after surgery

Los Angeles - Adele is "super happy" with the results of her throat surgery.

The Someone Like You hitmaker - who was forced to cancel all her remaining shows this year after suffering a vocal cord haemorrhage in October - is "doing really well" after the operation in the US, and relaxing before getting the "all clear" from medical staff.

Writing on her blog, she explained: "Thank you for all your positive thoughts and get well wishes. I'm doing really well, on the mend, super happy, relaxed and very positive with it all.

"The operation was a success and I'm just chilling out now until I get the all clear from my doctors."

The 23-year-old singer thanked her fans after winning the Best Pop Video for Rolling in the Deep at the UK Music Video Awards last week, before joking about planning her next concert as a mimed show.

She added: "Thank you to everyone who voted for the awards, I've won recently as well. Hugely appreciated. I best get back to practicing my mime show now."

Full recovery

Adele's doctor is expecting her to make a "full recovery" after she went under the knife with Steven M Zeitels, a vocal specialist who has previously worked with Aerosmith singer Steven Tyler.

Following the operation, a statement from Massachusetts General Hospital said: "Dr Zeitels has pioneered many vocal cord surgical procedures including the use of specialised lasers to stop vocal cord bleeding in singers.

"He has performed this unique procedure for many vocalists including Steven Tyler, allowing him to return to full performance."
