Arthur: Brown Dash 'rescued kwaito'

Cape Town - Arthur Mafokate, who is better known as just Arthur, has called the late Brown Dash a "kwaito legend".

Arthur posted the following message on his Twitter page late on Wednesday:

"Rest In Peace Kwaito Legend - One of the few people to win a SAMA Song of the year award"

Arthur also told Timeslive that Brown Dash "rescued kwaito".

"I used to tell him he had potential. But then he went on to help rescue kwaito and won the Song of the Year award and inspired a lot of kids," said Arthur.

Arthur spent Wednesday night reminiscing, writing "Watching the SAMA awards performance by Spikiri, late Brown Dash & @BrickzMabrigado recorded by Owami on my phone :-( #RIPBrownDash" on his Twitter page.

Arthur was the host at this year's SAMAs.
