Bjork records new album

Los Angeles - Bjork is halfway through making her seventh album.

The Icelandic singer - who hasn't released new material since 2007's Volta - has revealed she plans to return to the recording studio later this month to complete the record, but did not want to say too much about it because she is "very superstitious".

She told a newspaper in her home country: "I'm halfway there. So hopefully I'll be able to be on tour in the fall.

"I have had bad experiences before. I'm very superstitious. I go into the studio with a plan of what I have in mind and then the idea is half dead."

The Declare Independence singer also recently took part in a three day karaoke marathon, in protest at the takeover of an energy company by Canadian firm.

Bjork sang a traditional song as a duet with politician and former singer Omar Ragnarsson and sung Joy Division's Love Will Tear Us Apart on her own.
