Cape Town – Rocking the Daisies organisers announced on Thursday that UK rock band Bloc Party will be headlining this year's festival.
A photo together with the following message was posted on the official Rocking the Daisies Facebook page: "BLOC PARTY to headline RTD 2012!!! We are amped! And you?"
Less than an hour after the announcement was made, Rocking the Daisies and Bloc Party shot to the top of the trending topics on Twitter.
Bloc Party shared their excitement on coming to South Africa on Twitter, saying: "For the first time ever we are super excited to announce that we are playing South Africa! http://www.rockingthedaisies.com?"
Indie rock band Bloc Party are known for hits such as Like Eating Glass, Helicopter and I Still Remember. Their fourth studio album Four is due for release in August.
Rocking the Daisies 2012 is set for the Cloof Wine Estate in Darling in the Western Cape on 4-7 October.
