Cape Town Nu World Festival’s last act adds more diversity to exciting line-up

Cape Town - Die Wasgoedlyn Projek is a local initiative aimed at offering South African artists a platform for culturally versatile, authentic and creative musical collaboration.

The Cape Town Nu World Festival is proud to welcome a Wasgoedlyn featuring an array of exceptional individual talents to this year’s stage.

A Wasgoedlyn show is always wildly eclectic. Surprises, familiar favourites and a wide selection of original music inspired by unique narratives but, most importantly, there is honesty, humanity, integrity and passion.

Churchil Naude, the celebrated rapper from Mitchell's Plain, Frazer Barry "Die Rymklets Troebadoer" from the band Tribal Echo, Loit Sols, the eccentric Goema poet with his haunting lyrics and Willim Welsyn, the live-wire journalist rocker from Bellville will all be coming together to create some collective musical magic.

Composer, producer and performing artist, Riku Lätti is the skipper and founder of Die Wasgoedlyn. Riku, like the David Attenborough of the Afrikaans music industry, travels far and wide to discover musically gifted hidden gems, offering them a platform to shine. Audiences can expect raw, authentic, joyful music, skillfully performed by artists who aim to touch the heart and stir the soul.

The festival, which is to be held at the Cape Town City Hall over Mandela Day Weekend, is a celebration that aims to unify and entertain.
