Johannesburg - The countdown has begun for MTV’s most outrageous music awards ceremony, the 2015 MTV Video Music Awards (VMAs).
The MTV Video Music Awards will air live across Africa on MTV (DStv channel 130) from the Microsoft Theatre (formerly Nokia Theatre L.A. LIVE) in Los Angeles, on Monday 31 August at 03:00, with the official pre-show starting at 02:00.
The primetime simulcast will be taking place on MTV/MTV Base at 20:00 (pre-show) and 21:00 (main show).
Always packed with surprises and OMG! moments, this year’s VMAs promises a whole new level of revelations, career defining performances, crazy antics and crazier fashion decisions – and with Wrecking Ball star Miley Cyrus at the helm, who knows what’s going to happen?

Performers confirmed for the show include Taylor Swift, Selena Gomez, Bruno Mars, The Weeknd, Pharrell Williams, Macklemore & Ryan Lewis, Demi Lovato and more.
Kanye West will receive a special award, the Michael Jackson Video Vanguard Award, for his memorable music videos and live performances.
