Celebrities tweet VMA madness

Los Angeles - Gender bending, memorable tributes, breath taking performances and a pregnancy announcement: This year's MTV VMA's set social networks abuzz as one outrageous moment followed the other.

Celebrities too took to Twitter to share their elation, excitement and awe at this year's music spectacular.

Justin Bieber expressed his thanks after winning the award for best male video by tweeting: "Honestly i am a fan of all the nominees...so @brunomars @eminem @ceelogreen and @kanyewest i share this one with u. #HONORED #wildnight"

Jared Leto and his band, 30 Seconds to Mars, were nominated for their latest contentious video Hurricane in the categories for Best Cinematography, Best Direction, and Best Editing.  Despite not winning, Jared tweeted: "WE WON THE GREATEST AWARD WE COULD EVER DREAM TO WIN...THIS GREAT BIG GIANT FAMILY....THE ECHELON!!! #HURRICANEFOREVER"

Nicole "Snooki" Polizzi of MTV reality show Jersey Shore also felt compelled to share her VMA experience and her admiration for Lady Gaga, tweeting: "I can die happy now I met @ladygaga my inspiration ! Ughhhh @ladygaga opening omggggg I'm dying. Ah jayz and kanye ! Sick shit omg best night everrrr . AND I met beyonce! Amazingly beautiful"

Katy Perry, who took home VMA's for Best Collaboration with Kanye West on her song E.T and Video of the Year for Firework,  shared her love for her fans saying: "Well... Didn't WE have a night to remember?! Thanks for making me feel the (love) tonight. CHEERS to us! #shepartyinguntilsheturnsintoafirework!"

After Beyonce's announcement of her pregnancy at the awards show Katy also tweeted: "Also...@Beyonce me & @rustyrockets are avail to baby sit anytime! We'z real responsible...ish :P #HIPHOPBABY"

Even celebs who weren't at the VMA's shared their thoughts on the night's proceedings with Tatum O'Neal tweeting after Adele's performance of Someone Like You: "Tears just came to my eyes watching Adele on #TheVMA'S. No words no words."
