Los Angeles - Chris Brown has called for his fans to stop making death threats towards Pink.

The 22-year-old performer's followers lashed out at the Raise Your Glass singer after she criticised the fact that he lip synched at Sunday's Billboard Awards.

However upon hearing the news of their verbal attacks, Chris took to Twitter to appeal for the violent words to stop.

He wrote: "Anyone who is upset obviously is upset with their lives... Make your music...make a difference.. Be better than me! Godbless!

"Team Breezy! Lets stop sending death threats! I know y'all bout that life but it's the wrong message! Ur turning haters into victims! And that only furthers their pointless existence!"

Not impressed

Pink - whose real name is Alicia Moore - was not impressed by the younger star's rendition of Turn up the Music at the show as she didn't think he was performing live.

She tweeted: "One day if I lip-sync, I hope I do it as well as him."

Her husband, Carey Hart also appeared to level criticism at Katy Perry, comparing her to his wife as she performed Wide Awake.

He tweeted: "I'm pretty sure I saw my wife did that same performance, but she was 3 months pregnant and actually sang the song (sic)."
