Coldplay confirm their new album features Beyoncé

Los Angeles - Coldplay have announced a new album featuring Beyoncé and Noel Gallagher.

The four-piece band have confirmed their seventh studio album A Head Full of Dreams will be released on 4 December and will feature the stars alongside Swedish singer Tove Lo and gospel singer Merry Clayton.

The Chris Martin-fronted act premiered the first single to be taken from the record, Adventure of a Lifetime - which is available to download now - on BBC Radio 1 on Friday morning.

Recorded in Malibu, LA and London, the new record has been created with their long-term collaborator Rik Simpson as well as production duo Stargate who are behind hits such as Diamonds by Rihanna and Firework by Katy Perry.

The 11-track record follows 2014's Ghost Stories which was their sixth consecutive worldwide chart topper.

They sparked speculation of an imminent release last month with a series of secret posters dotted around London featuring a logo associated with the band and the 4 December release date.

And they previously hinted the collection could be the final release from the band, 15 years after their debut album Parachutes.

Chris said at the time: "We haven't told anyone this but we're making an album called A Head Full of Dreams. We're right in the middle of it.

"It's our seventh thing, and the way we look at it, it's like the last Harry Potter book or something. Not to say that there might not be another thing one day, but this is the completion of something.

"I have to think of it as the final thing we're going. Otherwise we wouldn't put everything into it."
