Coldplay confirms 5th album details

Los Angeles - Coldplay's fifth studio album will be called Mylo Xyloto, reports NME.

The British rock band will release Mylo Xyloto on October 24, just weeks after performing in South Africa.

On Friday Coldplay took to their official Twitter page to speak about the album, writing: "Weird sense of relief announcing Mylo Xyloto and release date. Paradise, Up in flames, Princess of China - let's get em out there! PH (sic)"

According to NME, the album will be released on CD and vinyl as well as digitally, while a special pop-up edition will be available on a limited release featuring a hardcover book, extracts from the band's studio diary, exclusive photos and more in addition to a CD and vinyl copy of the album.

On September 12 the band will also release a single title Paradise. It is not known if their recently released track Every Teardrop is A Waterfall will be on the album as a tracklisting is not yet available.

Coldplay are booked to tour South Africa later this year. The band will perform at the Cape Town Stadium on October 5 and at the FNB Stadium in Johannesburg on October 8.

Limited tickets are still available via Computicket.

Meanwhile, on July 29, frontman Chris Martin's wife Gwyneth Paltrow tweeted: "Who do I have to bang to get an advance copy of the new @coldplay album? I mean, really."
