Coldplay to tour SA

Cape Town - Big Concerts have announced that UK alternative rock band Coldplay will be performing live for the first time in South Africa in October.

The two shows that have been confirmed include one on Wednesday 5 October at Cape Town Stadium and one on Saturday 8 October at the FNB Stadium in Johannesburg.

The tour is presented by 94.5 KFM, 94.7 Highveld Stereo and M-Net.

Coldplay is one of the world’s best selling acts, with over 50 million album sales worldwide. They have won numerous awards through their career including six Brit Awards, four MTV Video Music Awards, seven Grammy Awards and they have headlined major festivals all over the world.

CEO of Big Concerts, Attie Van Wyk commented: "Coldplay is one of the most exciting British bands to ever visit our shores. After 10 years of knocking on the door, we are incredibly excited that they have finally confirmed two stadium shows.  Their extraordinary live performances will be a first for audiences in South Africa".
