Oppikoppi bringing international act to CT

Cape Town – Oppikoppi organisers announced on Thursday that they'll be bringing international acts Deftones and Yellowcard to Cape Town as part of their One Night in Cape Town show.

After its in inception in 2012, One Night in Cape Town will once again feature the international acts that have been confirmed for the festival, bringing some of the Oppikoppi magic to Cape Town.

Oppikoppi 19: BewilderBeast will be taking place from 8 to 10 August in Northam in the North West.

One Night in Cape Town will take place at the Grand Arena, Grand West Casino on Thursday 8 August.

Tickets cost R550 for Golden Circle and R450 for General Admission and are available on One Night in Cape Town's Facebook page.

Hailing from California, Grammy-winning Deftones had their first album debut in 1995 and have since produced seven albums. Known for their experimental metal sounds, the band has had a year of ups and downs.

Their latest album Koi No Yokan won Album of the Year at the Revolver Golden Gods Awards, but in April this year their original bassist Chi Cheng died following complications from a coma. The band consists of Chino Moreno (lead vocals and guitar), Sergio Vega (bass), Frank Delgado (keyboard), Stephen Carpenter (guitar) and Abe Cunningham (drums).

Local acts that have been confirmed for this year's festival inlclude Mango Groove, Crash Car Burn, Die Heuwels Fantasties, Fokofpolisiekar, Koos Kombuis, Fuzigish and The Narrow.
