Die Antwoord's US tour sold out

Cape Town - Tickets for all Die Antwoord's performances in the US are sold out, according to band member Ninja.

This statement was also confirmed by a spokesperson for Universal Music in America.

On the band's official Facebook page fans are complaining that some people bought many tickets at once and sold them for higher prices.

A week after the release of their new CD, Ten$ion, the album has reached No 143 on the Billboard Top 200.

Ninja, Yo-Landi Vi$$er and DJ Hi-Tek also had to get bodyguards for their Harden da Fuck Up tour in America to protect them against obsessive fans.

Vi$$er apparently has to deal with awkward advances from her male fans. When asked how she handles it, she said in an e-mail: "I knock their teeth out with the microphone. I've done it four times already."

Celebrities

As far as Ninja is concerned, he says "there are always women trying to pull down my Dark Side of the Moon-briefs if I get too close to the front of the stage".

Despite requests from fans for additional shows, The Antwoord won't be able to provide them. "Most of the time we play a show every night in a new state every time," said Vi$$er.

"On our off days we get heavy pro extreme sports massages, or we just hang in our larney hotels, or in our bus and play video games."

It's an impressive tour bus, says Ninja. "It is bigger than our house. It has X-Box, flat screen TV, free booze, a hot tub and a hot Oriental onboard masseuse, called Chiyo Chan."

Since the start of their tour articles about The Antwoord have appeared in the New York Times, the Wall Street Journal and Washington Post.

According to Ninja and Vi$$er, celebrities like Danny de Vito, Snoop Dogg, Pamela Anderson, Leonardo DiCaprio and Brad Pitt have indicated that they're big fans of the group's music and videos.

After their American tour Die Antwoord will be touring Australia.
