Worcester - Die Antwoord's Yo-landi Vi$$er pulled down her pants on stage at
RAMfest in Worcester on Friday. It was not the first time that the female rapper in the group and wife of fellow rapper Ninja pulled the stunt. But this time Channel24 was there and
caught it on camera.
The Zef rap rave group had between 4 000 and 5 000 people on their feet on
Friday at the RAMfest rock festival at Nekkies holiday resort outside
Rawsonville.
"What gave me such a warm feeling in my chest about tonight's
performance is that two years ago, we got on stage for the very first
time at RAMfest," Ninja, the lead singer said in an interview after the
show.
"Just look at what happened the past two years! We started touring Europe in April last year and then America and Canada.
"We've toured the all over the world, except in South America, Russia, Iceland and Spain. But we're going to Spain in June, and the other three, we definitely still want to do."
Ninja says that wherever they perform - whether in South Africa or abroad – the atmosphere is the same. "The only difference is that overseas you have to explain the meaning of '
Jou ma se poes', while here we can just
gooi."
ShockingLast month they performed at the Big Day Out in Australia - a privilege which many bands only receive after 10 years. It's an annual music festival that attracts thousands of people.
Vi$$er describes their performance there as "fucking shocking". "We
never realised we were so popular in Australia. We performed at 16:00
in temperatures of 40 ºC, and people were acting like crazy kids.
"Of course it was Zef and
kommin!"

She says it does not matter what they perform, there's just something about their music that captures people.
Skouspel In the interview after their show, Die Antwoord also said that they believe they will perform at Skouspel.
"Why not?
Juanita (du Plessis) loves me so much," said Yo-Landi Vi$$er.
D9 TattooNinja and Vi$$er are very excited about a project which they have just completed with
Neill Blomkamp. He is the director of the film
District 9.
Ninja even got a "D9" tattoo on the inside of his lower lip.
"People will soon read about that project," says Ninja.
The Antwoord is currently working on their new album,
Ten$ion, which should be in stores by September.
"We tour so much that there really isn't time to write new music. That's why we now want to focus on Ten$ion," said Vi$$er.
