Elvis Blue to open for Bon Jovi

Cape Town - Elvis Blue has announced that he will be Bon Jovi's supporting act during his tour to South Africa in May.

Taking to his Facebook page on Tuesday morning, the winner of Idols SA season 6 wrote that "Bon Jovi is coming to SA" and that he received "a very exciting call".

After an eruption of comments on his post, Elvis later confirmed that he was asked to open for Bon Jovi during the US rock band's Because We Can tour to South African from 7 to 11 May.

Elvis, real name Jan Hoogendyk, released his second album, Journey, in July 2012 and has been touring South Africa to promote the album.

Limited tickets for Bon Jovi's shows in Cape Town and Johannesburg are still available via Computicket.

Performances are scheduled to take place at the Cape Town Stadium in Cape Town on 7 May and the Soccer City Complex in Johannesburg on 11 May.
