Example forced to postpone SA tour

London - Example has been forced to pull out of his October gig dates including his concert series in South Africa.

The rapper and singer has been suffering with Achilles tendinitis, a condition which causes pain on the back of the leg causing him to cancel his commitments for the month, although they will be rescheduled.

In a series of posts on Twitter, he said: "With huge regret I've had to cancel/reschedule all my Oct shows. My achilles tendinitis has got worse and I need time to recover... Hoping to be back to full fitness asap and in time to play November/December shows. Details of the rescheduled shows soon (sic)."

Example and DJ Wire were due to kick off their concerts in Cape Town on 4 October, followed by a concert in Johannesburg on 5 October and ending off their series in Durban on 6 October.

Been advised not be active for at least a month

Computicket has said that they will refund all ticket holders for their inconvenience, or they can alternatively keep their tickets on hold till the new show dates have been confirmed.

According to Example's agent, he has been advised not be active for at least a month.

Recently Example revealed he had only just started taking singing lessons to make sure his voice was in top condition.

"I've released three albums and about 15 [UK] Top 40 singles, so my manager went, 'Do you think we maybe should have a singing lesson now?" he said.

"But the vocal coach said to me: 'You've got a really unique voice. I don't want you to lose the sound you've got.' So she taught me to warm up, basically, so I don't lose my voice," Example told.
