Francois and Karen go platinum on iTunes

Cape Town – Francois van Coke's Toe Vind Ek Jou, featuring Karen Zoid, has reached platinum status digitally, with 20 000 downloads on iTunes alone.

On 8 April 2015, Francois launched his debut self-titled solo album with the release of, what many dubbed to be the most beautiful song of the year, Toe Vind Ek Jou, featuring Karen.

This single instantly went on to break records, had thousands of people singing along at festivals such as Oppikoppi and Innibos, became a coveted song at weddings and you couldn’t turn on a radio without hearing it.

The album and song reached No 1 on the 947/KFM CocaColaTop40SA charts on its first day of release. The song has been on that chart for 19 weeks and is still going strong. Toe Vind Ek Jou also reached No 1 on various other radio stations and charts.

In less than 5 months, the music video has been viewed over 870 000 times on YouTube and counting.

"I am very overjoyed by the success of the song. I am glad that people can still relate to honest lyrics and music," says Francois.
