Francois van Coke squeezes in a quickie with us despite his busy schedule

Cape Town – It’s quickie time again here at Channel24, and this time around it’s with none other than Afrikaans rock virtuoso, Francois Van Coke.

Between being married, fronting two of SA’s most successful bands and working on his solo album, Francois has quite the busy schedule and we are so happy he took some time out to answer a few questions for us!

Check them out here:

Channel24:

"Who would you like to have a quickie with?"

Francois:

"My wife, Lauren."

Channel24:

"If you had to choose between opening for Foo Fighters and opening for the Lumineers, which one would you pick?"

Francois:

"Foo Fighters. All of us are massive fans and I got to see them live in 2012 and it was absolutely fucking amazing!"

Channel24:

"What's the most trouble you've ever gotten into on the road?"

Francois:

"Sjoe, that is a tough one. Been in fights, hospitals, road blocks and accidents, but nothing very very serious."

Channel24:

"Tell us more about Sweef? What's different about this project to what people have come to expect and love from you?"

Francois:

"I think we took a bit of a different direction this time with the video, because we have worked with a crazy director. We worked with him before so his take on things was not completely foreign to us. It is a wild and crazy video for a heavy song and we haven't made anything like this before."

Channel24:

"Who released your favourite album this year?"

Francois:

"Last year Queens of the Stone Age and Arctic Monkeys released great albums. I think my favourite for this year is Jack White’s Lazaretto.
