Cape Town - Skyfall, the much-anticipated new James Bond theme song by Adele, has been officially released on Friday, coinciding with the 50th anniversary of the British spy film franchise.
The song, which was also written by Adele and her producer and Rolling in the Deep co-writer Paul Epworth, will follow tradition and soundtrack the opening credits of the 23rd Bond movie Skyfall, which will see Daniel Craig return as the suave spy.
The song is now available to purchase on iTunes and a video has been released on Youtube with the lyrics of the song.
The song Skyfall has been described by songwriter-producer Ryan Tedder, who collaborated with Adele on her multi-award winning album 21, as the "Best bond song in my lifetime. Hands down. Hats off once again to Paul Epworth and Adele. hope they win Oscar (sic)."
Skyfall is set for release in the UK on 26 October and a month later in South Africa on 30 November.
