Have you heard that catchy tune Remember Me? We had a quickie with the artist!

Cape Town - Since the release of David Meulen's debut album, @davidmeulen, he has been making waves with his single Remember Me?.

The song has enjoyed extensive day-time airplay on KFM and has recently been selected as the theme song on Home Channel's local property show, Show House (DStv channel 176).

Christopher Taljaard, Senior Producer at Home Channel says that they chose the track as it fitted the upbeat, local feel that they were looking for. "David’s music and vibe sets him apart from others as he is one of those songwriters, which no matter what time of day you hear his music, it makes you feel good."

Remember Me? has also been playlisted on various other SA Radio stations and a video of the track is currently in the making.

Listen to the song here:

David will be joining Joshua Grierson and David Van Vuuren for a gig this Saturday at Mercury in Cape Town, and he was nice enough to answer a few questions for us!

A Channel24 quickie is a brief or spontaneous episode consisting of five frisky questions in which celebs and Channel24 have a brief frolic leaving all parties involved feeling satisfied and craving a cigarette.

Check it out here:

Channel24:
You’re playing Mercury on Saturday with Joshua Grierson and David van Vuuren, what can people expect from the show and do you have any rituals before you go on stage?

David:
I’m very excited to go on stage with them! From my set you can expect some great three-piece acoustic tunes, most of which are on my album @davidmeulen! I don’t really have any rituals – I enjoy being on stage and in many ways I’m more comfortable on stage than off. Maybe I should get a few rituals for coming OFF stage!

Channel24:
What’s the one thing that nobody knows about you?

David:
I’m half Irish. Kind of. It would make a lot of sense. I can also wiggle my eyes in a very disturbing manner – perhaps I’ll Instagram a video of it for you guys at Channel24.

Channel24:
If you could collaborate with any artist in the world, who would it be and why?

David:
I’d love to collaborate with The Tallest Man On Earth. He’s been a huge inspiration and soundtrack to my life while writing the music I play now. If you haven’t heard him, check him out!

Channel24:
Who would you like to have a quick interview with?

David:
I’d like to see behind-the-scenes of Radiohead.

Channel24:
What’s next for you?

David:
A single and a tour are first and foremost on the horizon. A video for my album’s single Remember Me? is also in the pipeline! Getting the album out there and writing is my priority at the moment. It’s what I enjoy and what I’ll always do!
