Cape Town - Chad Saaiman will make a full recovery, Loyiso Bala has confirmed.
Bala, who landed in Cape Town on Monday morning for auditions for a singing competition, confirmed to Channel24 that Saaiman's doctors expect him to make a full recovery.
Bala said: "The doctors say he'll make a full recovery. He's off the ventilator and conscious."
Saaiman was shot in the stomach at around 18:00 on Sunday in a botched hijacking while driving near Louis Botha Avenue in Johannesburg. He had reportedly just left Bala's house after a braai.
Bala told Cape Town radio station Heart FM, "If I knew he was going to Louis Botha, I would have warned him."
Saaiman was admitted to ICU earlier on Monday and is recovering in the Charlotte Maxeke Johannesburg Academic Hospital.
