James Bay is our new bae

Cape Town - A steady stream of singer/songwriters has been flowing out of the British Isles since Adele’s 19, from Sam Smith to Ed Sheeran and we love all of them.

Our new favourite, though, has to be James Bay or new bae (as we like to call him) because there’s something that feels a little less polished than the others about him and that’s a good thing. Refreshingly rough.

The man can strum us like a guitar anytime:

We fell in love with him after seeing this Haim cover the Brighton busker did in Radio One’s Live Lounge. Tight guitar playing mixed with some killer falsetto makes this one of our favourite covers (trust us; we have a thing for covers.)

Check it out Forever, thank us later:

He doesn’t have Adele’s big voice, Sam Smith’s incredible backing band or Ed Sheeran’s smooth way with sound loops, his voice is a little grittier.

A relationship being on the rocks has never sounded so good:

In Let it Go (don’t panic it’s not a cover of Frozen, although we won’t mind) James dumps someone in a big way. But you can’t hate him for it because his voice sounds like velvet feels :

Also, just look at his pretty face:

That hair:

Now look at his hat again:

We want to climb inside it and get whisked away. Jk. Jk. Serious.
