New York – Jay-Z has said that criticism of President Barack Obama is "fair".
He was speaking to a small group of journalists at a private listening of his new album with Kanye West in New York, according to Billboard.com.
"You gotta fix (the country's current climate)," the rapper is reported to have said. "Can't fix it all in one day. Numbers don't lie, it's fucked up out there. Unemployment is still high."
Jay-Z was a strong supporter of Obama in the president's campaign.
