Los Angeles - John Mayer wants to create a new reality TV series.The 36-year-old singer wants to expand to carve out another career behind the scenes and is reportedly pitching an idea for a new show called My Funny Friend.A source said: "His concept is: everyone thinks they have a buddy who's so hysterical, he or she should be in a comedy. So people nominate their friends, and they go through a series of evaluations to determine if they're actually funny or not."The Something's Missing hitmaker wants celebrity chef Anthony Bourdain to host the series.The insider added to Us Weekly magazine: "John thinks it has a great human-interest angle."John's saying it's a show about dreams. He's telling people, 'Think how much joy there is in seeing a friend happy!' "Meanwhile, John's ex-girlfriend Katy Perry recently revealed she was going to be using their 18-month on/off romance as material for her new album. She said: "There's no bad blood. But I'm sure there will be inspired songs."
