Justin Bieber hits back at The Black Keys

Los Angeles - Justin Bieber is furious with The Black Keys drummer Patrick Carney.

The 18-year-old Canadian singer - who was upset about missing out on a Grammy nomination this year - has hit back at the 32-year-old rocker for insinuating he should be happy he makes a lot of money from his career because his music isn't good enough to win awards.

Writing on his Twitter on Tuesday, the As Long As You Love Me singer said: "The Black Keys drummer should be slapped around haha."

His comment came in response to a remark made by Patrick, whose band won three Grammy Awards on Sunday, at an after party in the early hours of Monday morning.

When asked about Justin's Grammy snub, Patrick told gossip website TMZ.com: "He's rich, right? (...) Grammys are for music, not for money (...) and he's making a lot of money. He should be happy."

'People music is music'

Justin previously admitted he was devastated after not being recognised at this year's awards ceremony in Los Angeles and was shocked he didn't make the cut despite his album Believe achieving major commercial success.

He said: "I was looking forward to [a possible Grammy nomination], but I know it will happen one day. I'm so young, I'm only 18. I'm just blessed to be able to do what I love every day. And the AMAs was a lot of fun for me so (...) Hopefully, one day."

Justin lost out for Best New Artist and Best Pop Vocal Album two years ago at the prestigious awards but is hoping his new album Believe Acoustic will prove his real talent to critics.

He said: "It's just good music. It just shows that I wasn't made, I was found on YouTube and it shows people music is music. That's what you need to focus on - listening to the music. I'm an artist. I'm a singer and I want to show people what I love to do."
