Los Angeles - Justin Timberlake has teamed up with Marcus Mumford to record the soundtrack for the new Coen Brothers movie.

The Mirrors hitmaker has been working with the Mumford and Sons frontman on the score for Inside Llewyn Davis, which focuses on a fictional musician trying to make it in 1960s New York.

Justine told Capital FM: "I did work with Marcus Mumford on the soundtrack. Marcus and myself, we all kind of worked on the music together and I don't know any other world where we would have the opportunity to collaborate like that but it was so much fun.

"So not only will that be a great movie, but the music to it will be fantastic."

Carey Mulligan

The film sees Marcus' wife Carey Mulligan playing the female lead opposite Oscar Isaac.

Although the movie does not yet have an official release date, it is expected to hit cinemas at some point in 2013.

It is not the first collaboration Justin has recently announced. Earlier this month, it was revealed he and Jay-Z will be going on tour together this year.
