Kesha covers herself in blood

Los Angeles - Kesha stunned fans at a concert in Australia after drinking "blood" live on stage.

The We R Who We R singer was performing at the Future Music Festival in Sydney on Saturday when she took out what appeared to be an animal heart and poured its contents - which looked like blood - into her mouth and all over her chest.

The singer carried on with her performance on the main stage at the Royal Randwick Racecourse, but the bizarre act has sparked rumours it could be one of the stunts she uses onstage during her upcoming $leazy tour later this year.

Kesha has also promised the show will see her showering fans with condoms, which feature her face on the outside packet.

Bloody show

Describing the tour, Kesha said: "If you come to a live show, it's a sensory assault. You will leave covered in sweat, beer, glitter, and, just maybe, you'll get a special edition Kesha condom. If it breaks, you have to name you daughter or son after me."

Kesha is not to the only pop star to cause controversy with her bloody show.

In 2009, Lady Gaga faked her own "death" during a performance of her track Paparazzi at the MTV Video Music Awards.

The 24-year-old star wore a white costume with fake blood oozing down the front as she sang her hit song and at its climax, back-up dancers lifted her up and let her dangle from a line, as if she were hanging while flashes and clicking, as if from cameras, could be heard.
