Los Angeles - Lady Gaga has designed a wristband to raise money for victims of the earthquake and tsunami in Japan.
The Asian country has suffered widespread devastation to its north eastern island as a result of the 9.0 magnitude earthquake and after affects on Friday, and Gaga has been among stars to come forward and urge her fans to donate to relief efforts.
She tweeted: "I Designed a Japan Prayer Bracelet. Buy It/Donate here and ALL proceeds will go to Tsunami Relief Efforts. Go Monsters:"
The red and white bracelet designed by the Born This Way star reads "We Pray For Japan" in both English and Japanese and shows a red hand in a 'paw' signal. The wristband is available from the star's official store on her website.
Other stars
The natural disaster has led to casualty estimates in the tens of thousands and has seen over 300 000 people's homes destroyed, prompting many other music stars including Katy Perry and rap mogul P.Diddy to urge people to show their support.
US singer Katy tweeted: "Remember as you go about your day please #prayforjapan & if you are able, text REDCROSS to 90999 to donate $10 to Japan's emergency relief."
Teen heartthrob Justin Bieber also sent a message to fans using the micro blogging site, writing: "Japan is one of my favourite places on earth - it's an incredible culture with amazing people. My prayers go out to them. We all need to help."
Other stars to send messages of support or call for donations included Britney Spears, Japanese musician and artist Yoko Ono and Star Trek actor George Takei, who is of Japanese descent.
People can donate to the relief fund via The Red Cross through a variety of methods including the charity's website, Facebook and iTunes.
