LeAnn Rimes hospitalised after coughing fit

Los Angeles - LeAnn Rimes was hospitalised on Thursday night after a "coughing spasm".

The How do I Live hitmaker missed a show in Dublin, Ireland, after having a severe fit, leaving her unable to perform and needing medical attention.

She tweeted: "Never thought I'd see the ER [Emergency Room] in Dublin. I have coughed myself into pain. The spasm is intense. Being human sucks sometimes."

She later followed it up with an apology to her fans, adding: "Thank you to all my fantastic, understanding, loving fans here in Ireland."

100% voice rest

LeAnn is now on voice rest and has even been given a board to write on so she can communicate without speaking.

Alongside a picture of it, she tweeted: "A gift from the hotel, a dry erase board cause I'm on 100% voice rest. I was thinking smaller but that'll wrk lol (sic)."

The Can't Fight the Moonlight singer also went out to greet her well wishers and apologise for not making the show, which is now expected to be rescheduled.

She added: "So nice to meet all my loyal fans who tweeted me about the Dublin show. I didn't get to sing or talk to you, but I got to give you all a hug."
