Lostprophets is no more

Cardiff - Lostprophets have announced they have split up.

The Welsh rock band have been on a hiatus since allegations of child sex abuse were made against frontman Ian Watkins last year, but the rest of the group - consisting of Lee Gaze, Mike Lewis, Stuart Richardson, Jamie Oliver and Luke Johnson - have decided to go their separate ways following a year of "heartache".

Posting the news on their official Facebook page, they said, "After nearly a year of coming to terms with our heartache, we finally feel ready to announce publicly what we have thought privately for some time."

"We can no longer continue making or performing music as Lostprophets."

"Your love and support over the past 15 years has been tremendous, and we'll be forever grateful for all you've given us."

"As we look forward to the next phase of our lives, we can only hope to be surrounded by people as devoted and inspiring as you guys have been."

Court case still pending

The 36-year-old singer has been charged with: Conspiracy to rape a child aged under 13; conspiracy to engage in sexual activity with a child aged under 13; possession of indecent images of children; making indecent images of children; distributing indecent images of children and possessing extreme pornography, but he denies all charges.

His trial date is set for November 25 at Cardiff Crown Court.
