Cape Town – The winners for the 2013 MK Awards were announced on Sunday night during a gala event at the The State Theatre in Pretoria.
The big winners of the evening were Van Coke Kartel who walked away with three awards and Gangs of Ballet who were named Best Newcomer. The gala event also featured live performances by electronic rap act Bittereinder and ISO.
The 7th annual MK Awards saw SA artists competing in 10 categories and viewers votes determined the winners.
MK also gave fans the opportunity to nominate who they felt best deserved to be in the Best Live Act and Best SA Music Festival categories. The artists and festival who came out with the most nominations were included as official nominees.
