MTV Africa Music Awards set to rock South African shores with local and international stars

2014-05-15 10:58
Durban - In case you haven’t heard, the home of hit videos and terrible/addictive reality shows (we’re looking at you Ex On the Beach), MTV Africa, is hosting one big awards show on Saturday 7 June 2014 at the Durban International Convention Centre.

The awards that have been handed out since 2008, showcase blazing hot artists from all over Africa and for the first time ever, the awards will be premiering live across Africa on MTV Base (DStv Channel 322) and MTV (DStv Channel 130) at 21:00.

Non music artists are also shown some love for making their own lane this year with the Personality of the year category, with nominees including Chimamanda Adiche, Omotola Jalade Ekeinde, Trevor Noah, Lupita Nyong’o and Yaya Toure.

We can’t wait to see who wins and who pulls a Kanye this year but the part we’re most hyped about? The performances!

Davido (Nigeria) and mzansi’s own Mafikizolo (who lead the nominations with Uhuru) are the first two confirmed performers for the night. We can’t wait to hear who else is going to BRING it for the biggest night of the year on South Africa’s East Coast.
