Madonna, Lady Gaga spat continues

Los Angeles - Madonna has made another jibe at Lady Gaga.

The Celebration singer claimed she is a big fan of the younger pop star's track Born This Way - which has previously been compared with her hit Express Yourself - because she "helped to write" the song.

She said on Brazilian TV: "I'm a really big fan of [Born This Way]. I'm glad that I helped Gaga write it."

Madonna - who has performed a mash-up of Born This Way and Express Yourself during her MDNA gigs - has previously claimed Gaga copied her track.

She has said: "I thought, 'What a wonderful way to redo my song'. I mean, I recognised the chord changes. I thought it was... interesting."

'Completely ridiculous'

However, Gaga has previously hit back on the comparisons, branding them "retarded".

She said: "I'm a songwriter. I've written loads of music. Why would I try to put out a song and think I'm getting one over on everybody? That's retarded.

"What a completely ridiculous thing to even question me about... If you put the songs next to each other, side by side, the only similarities are the chord progression.

"It's the same one that's been in disco music for the last 50 years. Just because I'm the first fucking artist in 25 years to think of putting it on Top 40 radio, it doesn't mean I'm a plagiarist, it means that I'm fucking smart. Sorry!"
