Cape Town - Madonna will not be coming to South Africa for a concert tour in 2012, Big Concerts revealed on Tuesday, quashing rumours that had been circulating on Twitter and Facebook.

Big Concerts MD Attie van Wyk, told Die Burger that the pop megastar would "definitely" not be coming to South Africa in 2012.

He would not say if Big Concerts had any plans to bring Madonna, whose many hits include "Like A Virgin", "Ray of Light" and "Erotica", to our shores in the near future.

"All I can say is that she will definitely not be coming to South Africa in 2012," said Van Wyk.

He said that the company's plans were on track but declined to elaborate further for fear of shooting himself in the foot.

Big Concerts have already confirmed a star-studded line-up of artists set to perform in South Africa in 2012, including Usher, Michael Bublé, Sting, Roxette, Eagles, Il Divo and Moody Blues.

Usher will only be performing in Johannesburg. publishes all comments posted on articles provided that they adhere to our Comments Policy. Should you wish to report a comment for editorial review, please do so by clicking the 'Report Comment' button to the right of each comment.
