Meghan Trainor forced to cancel shows after vocal cord hemorrhage

Los Angeles - Meghan Trainor has been diagnosed with a haemorrhage on her vocal cords.

The Lips Are Movin singer has been struck down with the painful issue which has thrown the future of her MTrainTour string of dates into uncertainty as she has been banned from speaking or singing in an attempt to recover.

In a statement on Instagram, she revealed: "I don't want anyone worrying but I have had a haemorrage on my vocal cords. Right now the doctors want me on complete vocal rest until they are healed so I have to postpone my first two shows in Atlantic City and Connecticut. I promise that I will make it up to my Megatronz. In the emotional post, the 21-year-old star - who was forced to postpone two shows over the weekend - explained she's feeling devastated about her illness because she hates letting down her fans.

She continued: "I have never missed a tour date before so this is killing me. I love you all very much and want to get healed quickly so I can show you this amazing tour we've been working on. I am truly sorry to everyone who has bought tickets and made travel plans. I hate this. (sic)"

The blonde beauty is now seeking medical help following the haemorrhage - which is something singers Sam Smith and Jess Glynne have also suffered from this year - revealing she has jetted to New York to get advice.

Along with an Insta-video she wrote: "I'm in New York now seeing another doctor. So frustrated but cant make any noise. At least I got my brother @ryan.trainor to make me smile. And my fans supporting me thank you for your kind words (sic)"
