Michael Jackson album sells 3m units

New York - Michael Jackson is the King of Pop, but he's being challenged by the current queens of music.

Taylor Swift's album Speak Now is no 1 on the Billboard 200 albums chart this week, followed by Susan Boyle's The Gift. Their albums got in the way of Jackson's first posthumous album, Michael, hitting the top spot.

According to Nielsen SoundScan, Speak Now sold 259 000 units and The Gift 254 000 units. Jackson's album debuted at no 3 with 228 000 copies sold.

Though he's not no 1, Jackson's album sold more than 3 million units worldwide. Michael debuted at no 1 in Germany, Italy, Sweden and the Netherlands. It also made its way to the Top 5 in the United Kingdom, Japan, France, Belgium and Denmark.
