Los Angeles - Britney Spears is at the centre of a bidding war for a Las Vegas residency.
The former X Factor judge - who is said to be close to agreeing to a $100m, one-year residency with the Caesars hotel chain - has now received big money offers from two rival hotels in the US gambling capital, reports gossip website TMZ.
By agreeing to a deal, Britney would perform a complete live show several times a week for hotel guests, much like fellow songstress Celine Dion, whose Vegas residency is also worth $100m.
However, it's reported that Britney could potentially command an even bigger fee than the My Heart Will Go On hitmaker, because she's expected to be a bigger draw.
Meanwhile, friends of the 31-year-old pop superstar have expressed concern about how Britney - who recently announced she had split from fiancé Jason Trawick - would cope with the demanding schedule of a residency.
A source said: "I'm not sure just how good an idea Vegas is for Britney right now. If she can't handle The X Factor - how will she be able to perform five days a week in Vegas?
"She's a homebody, she loves her sons and has her daily routine. At this time, she may need to concentrate on her health and happiness - not rebuilding her career.
"At [X Factor] auditions, Jason would calmly escort Britney by the hand back and forth to her seat during breaks. He was there for her."
