NY Jay-Z concert a no-go

New York - Rapper Jay-Z's planned Monday concert atop a marquee at the Ed Sullivan Theater in New York has been put a stop to by the mayor's office, a source told the New York Post. The show was supposed to be done in conjunction with the Magna Carta artist's appearance on the Late Show with David Letterman.

Official reasons have not been given for the cancellation, but there have been speculations. One source thinks that “it’s because of the holiday weekend. They were concerned about fireworks and terrorism.” Another source believes that the reasons are similar to the last time that Jay-Z tried to play a concert in the same venue in 2010.

In that incident, details about the event was leaked beforehand and would have it impossible for city cops to handle with the crowds that Jay-Z pulls, especially after riots almost broke out at a Drake concert a week before.

New album

Jay-Z's latest album, Magna Carta Holy Grail, was released today for free on a Samsung app only available to Samsung cell-phones. Samsung signed a $5 million deal with the artist for a million copies of the album, but despite many glitches on the app the album has been entirely leaked on the internet.
