Nelly shocked by heroin, guns on bus

Los Angeles - Nelly had "no idea" there was drugs and a gun on his tour bus.

The rapper's vehicle was searched after a police dog detected the presence of drugs at a border patrol checkpoint in Sierra Blanca, Texas on Wednesday.

Officers uncovered 36 small bags of heroin, about 4.54kg marijuana inside a large green bag and a loaded .45 calibre pistol.

However, Nelly insisted they belonged to one of his staff and had nothing to do with him.

'An unfortunate decision'

He told TMZ: "It is my understanding a member of my staff made an unfortunate decision to bring unlawful materials onto our tour bus that resulted in his arrest this morning.

"Neither I nor anyone else on the tour bus was aware of his decision to bring these on board. Law enforcement officials did not press charges against anyone other than that individual."

All seven people on the bus - including Nelly - were detained during the search but one passenger, a man named Brian Keith Jones, reportedly admitted the drugs and gun were his.

He was subsequently placed under arrest and Nelly and the remaining five people were let go.
