New Foo Fighters album ready

Los Angeles - Foo Fighters have a new album almost ready for release.

Although the rock group is currently on hiatus, they have no plans to disband and have a collection of songs ready to record and unveil to the world.

Frontman Dave Grohl said: "We've been a band for almost 20 years. When it feels like you're walking in the sand, it's time to go home. But we have pretty much an entire record ready. Once we're set, we'll make a huge stink about it."

Even though the Best of You hitmakers have been taking a break, Grohl has still been busy on other projects and he admits working with Sir Paul McCartney is one of the highlights of his career.

The singer teamed up with the Beatles legend and his former Nirvana bandmates Krist Novoselic and Pat Smear on Cut Me Some Slack - which debuted at the New York Hurricane Sandy 12-12-12 benefit charity concert - after previously recording with Paul for his documentary on California's iconic Sound City studios and he admits it was honour to make music with one of his heroes.

Grohl is quoted by People magazine as saying: "I remember rehearsing with him. He comes in and just wants to jam. He's willing to go off more than most younger musicians."
