Cape Town – There was no sign of any drama behind the scenes during One Direction’s gig in Cape Town on Wednesday night.

The British boy band’s South African leg of their On The Road Again World Tour is the first without band member, Zayn Malik.

Zayn announced last week that he would be leaving the world famous band to "live a normal life".

Wednesday night’s show made no mention of the former member. Zayn was removed from all videos and images displayed during the performance.

The remaining members also didn’t mention the 22-year-old and filled in his part effortlessly without it being noticeable.

It was hard to tell that they were ever a five piece band as the boys gave an energetic performance that had the crowd going crazy.

One Direction’s South African tour ended with a bang as colourful fireworks lit up the night sky.
