Oppikoppi reveals 2012 festival theme

2012-03-28 10:11
Cape Town – Oppikoppi on Wednesday announced the theme for its 18th annual rock festival to be held in Northam in the North West.

Every year the Oppikoppi team delivers a funky, original theme to underpin the festival.

The theme for Oppikoppi 18 is Sweet Thing.

The theme name was inspired by a Van Morrison Song titled Sweet Thing. The lyric, "Hey it's me I am dynamite… and I don't know why" serves as the core of the theme as it is "for everyone who has ever felt like dynamite without quite knowing why".

The Oppikoppi team commissioned fine artist Gavin Rain, famous for his hand painted, tech driven photos of people, to come up with the image and the team from janaandkoos.com produced the artwork for the poster.

Oppikoppi 18: Sweet Thing will be taking place on August 9, 10 and 11. Tickets are available in batches and the next batch of tickets will be going on sale early in April.

Tickets are roughly R700 on the OppiKoppi Facebook page or R750 on Ticketbreak.co.za.

Tickets can also be bought through the Standard Bank youth portal for R600.

For more information visit Oppikoppi's official Facebook page or their website.
