Los Angeles - Sir Paul McCartney thinks Yoko Ono is a "badass".
The musician has publicly ended his feud with John Lennon's widow after years of holding a grudge against his late bandmate's wife, blaming her for the break-up of The Beatles in 1970.
He told the new issue of Rolling Stone magazine: "I thought, 'If John loved her, there's got to be something. He's not stupid. It's like, what are you going to do? Are you going to hold a grudge you never really had? George [Harrison] would say to me, 'You don't want stuff like that hanging around in your life.'"
Yoko - who met John in 1966 while he was still married to first wife Cynthia, before tying the knot with him in 1969 - thanked Paul for being "sweet" earlier this year when he finally admitted she wasn't solely responsible for the legendary band calling it a day.
Never forgive John’s murderer
However, Paul insists he that while he was able to move on from his feud with Yoko, he will never be able to forgive John's murderer Mark Chapman, who shot the Imagine singer outside his New York apartment in 1980, killing him at the age of 40.
The 71-year-old star - who has just released his 16th solo album New - raged: "I think I could pretty much forgive anyone else. But I don't see why I'd want to forgive him. This is a guy who did something so crazy and terminal. Why should I bless him with forgiveness?"
Yoko previously described the break-up of The Beatles as a "divorce" between Paul and John and blamed the former for trying to turn the group - also formed of George Harrison and Ringo Starr - into "Paul's band".
